Refine your darkroom technique and develop a subtle sense of control over the printing process.

This five-week course is designed to provide students with previous darkroom experience the tools necessary to make higher quality silver prints. Participants will learn advanced techniques such as dodging and burning, pre-flashing, and split-filter printing. Students will also experiment with paper choice to better understand the differences between RC and fiber papers. Finally, students will develop their eye for contrast and tone, and learn to visualize their final prints. Through demonstration and discussion, participants will gain a thorough understanding of the black and white printing process.

Bonus: Students have unlimited access to the darkroom throughout the course!
