We Offer Events for Photographers
Project Basho seeks to nurture a vibrant and active culture around photography in Philadelphia and its surrounding area. In addition to offering darkroom space, classes, workshops, and a gallery, we recognize the importance of providing programs to promote conversation about photography. With this in mind we offer a frequent schedule of lectures, critiques, and other photography-related events.
Project Basho frequently invites working photographers from various disciplines to share their knowledge and discuss their work in our lecture series. Open to the general public, our lectures offer the greater Philadelphia community the opportunity to learn from working artists, while giving these artists the ability to reach a wider audience. The lecture series features both local and visiting artists.

It’s okay to admit that your co-workers are not the best critics of your photographs. If you’re looking for feedback on your work from other photographers, try one of our informal critiques. Critiques are open to anyone who has a strong interest in engaging in conversation about photography, regardless of their level. All participants are encouraged to bring 10-20 photographs for review.
The informal critique is free of charge.
