Adobe Photoshop is a powerful tool that allows photographers to alter the look and feel of digital images or create entirely new flights of fancy. This 5-week course will focus on two broad areas of basic Photshop skills: retouching and compositing. Working with portraiture, students will learn the basics of basics of retouching including blemish removal, smoothing skin, removing stray hairs and reducing wrinkles. We will also play with the liquify tool to "add" and "lose weight". Participants will also learn how to make realistic composites, images created from various elements that are combined into a single field. To make their composites appear convincing, students will learn effective ways to select, cut and paste, blend, as well as matching lighting and shadow. |
