| Description: |
This workshop is designed to teach the fundamentals of good scanning technique. The scanning process is the first step in the interpretation of a negative or chrome to the desired final image, so it is important that the scanning step be done 'right.' Once a good understanding of the process is established, this knowledge can be applied to advance their personal aesthetic through the first step in the digital process. The workshop will cover film cleaning and preparation, negative development approaches for good scanning, scanner capabilities and limitations, viable file formats, preparation for Photoshop, and a cursory look at output options. Students are expected to bring suitable negatives or chromes for scanning. |
