  • Introductory Teaching Position
    - Although position is currently filled, we are happy to receive resumes.

    Per expansion of the program, Project Basho is seeking individuals who have a strong passion for teaching photography at various levels. We are interested in working with creative and dedicated individuals who can not only teach technical matters in a concise way but also who can share their passion and commitment to the medium with their students.

    Requirements:

    • Strong technical understanding of use of cameras (various formats), shooting, and darkroom practices (b/w, color and/or historical processes)
    • Strong appreciation of formal issues of photography
    • Moderate knowledge of history of photography
    • Strong involvement in photography
    • Strong communication and inter-personal skills
    • Strong organizational skills

    A degree in photography is certainly preferred, but not required. Also, teaching experience is preferred, but not a requirement. There will be a series of training sessions which one must complete.

    These are part-time positions and are not immediately open. The length of classes ranges from one or two weekends to 12 weeks.
