Informal Critiques

projectbashologo

It is OK to admit that your co-workers are not the best critics of your photographs

Project Basho is founded on a firm belief that photographers can grow together by sharing their images and ideas. Opinions and criticism between respected points of view are essential factors in a myriad of decisions which eventually contribute to building a photographer's work. Project Basho provides a place for photographers to engage in dialogue on many topics and issues pertaining to their own work, the work of others, activities, and photography in general.

Our informal critiques run on a bi-monthly basis, so that participants have time to work on their materials and bring something new each time. Critiques are open to anyone who have a strong interest in engaging in conversation about photography regardless of their level.

Also, to stimulate the conversation, we select a certain photographer's work for each meeting. The selections will be made from books, magazines, and gallery or museum shows. All participants are encouraged to go over the suggested materials prior to the meeting.
