Collotype Limited Edition Portfolio
Photographs by
Emmet Gowin Essay by James Enyeart
Collotype printing is a pain staking process which requires a highly skilled artisan. Today, only a few collotype ateliers exist worldwide. Among them is Benrido Inc. in Kyoto, Japan. In order to commemorate its 100 year anniversary of collotype printing, Benrido has created a one-of-a-kind, beautifully hand-crafted, limited edition portfolio which consists of sixteen collotype prints from eight prominent fine art photographers. An accompanying essay by James Enyeart, the former Director of George Eastman House is also included. Each collection is mounted on an individual folding screen (size 13"x16") and presented in a Paulownia wood box. All books are individually handcrafted by Benrido in Kyoto, Japan. Prices: Signed Version (40 copies)
Unsigned Version (215 copies)
